About the Community Closet
The Community Closet Thrift Store (located on Main Street in Milaca) is an extension of Pearl Crisis Center. It’s a place where you can go to get your shopping needs met at reasonable prices, while doing YOUR part in supporting a violence free community.
We accept donations from the community and surrounding areas. Proceeds from the sales at the Community Closet go back to Pearl to provide support for victims/survivors of violence. We are able to keep our store in operation thanks to the wonderful generosity of numerous volunteers. If you are interested in being a volunteer, please contact Renee by phone or email (listed above).
We take pride in not just being known as a thrift store, we are a place where we mentor each volunteer, whether they are young, old, or any age in between! We truly care about the volunteers. We are a place to network and learn about resources to help each other. Our volunteers learn the mission's work of Pearl Crisis Center and are able to help others by directing them to the Pearl office to help meet their needs. The Community Closet is a great place to really connect with others, make new friends, or learn new skills that benefit self-growth and give back to the community you live in.
We honor our volunteers by having Volunteer of the Month, which is co-sponsored by the Milaca Depot Floral.
